New York

Day I:
Our trip to New York with our dear friends Lexie and Mitchell was such a dream and so much fun. We took the red eye and got in early Thursday morning. The first thing we did was grab breakfast from Fluffy's. Next we headed to Times Square. I'm really glad we got to go early in the morning cause it wasn't as busy and a bit more quiet than usual. It was really cool to see it at night too, it was so bright and jam-packed with people. Since we were awake and ready we went to the Today Show.  I watch the Today Show most every morning so it was cool to be there live. I was sad nothing was going on in the plaza that morning, but it was still fun to take a peek into the studio. We walked around the Rockefeller center, Central Park, the Apple Store, Nike, and FAO Schwarz. Then we headed back to our hotel for a nap. We were so exhausted. That night we ate at a delicious Italian place called Nocello and went to Captian Phillips.

Day II:
We started the day off with a yummy breakfast on the patio downtown. Then we took the subway to the financial district. We went to the nine eleven memorial, a Jewish museum, and gazed at the Statue of Liberty. We went to dinner at Serendipity and loaded up on candy at Dylan's candy store.

Day III:
We started the day off with a brisk jog through Central Park and to the LDS Temple. We did some shopping on fifth avenue and ate bread pudding from Magnolia Bakery. We witnessed a protest. Then headed to china town for foot massages and they were so worth it. We had to hurry back cause we had tickets to the Broadway play, Newsies. It was so, so good and did not disappoint. On our way home we grabbed some pizza and ice cream and called it a night.

Day IV:
On our last day in the beloved city we strolled through Central Park, had brunch at the Boathouse, and went to the Central Park Zoo. It was a gorgeous sunny day and the perfect ending to our stay in New York.

We had such a good time and that city has stolen a little piece of my heart- such a vibrant and electric place to be. It's really quite exciting and a place I'll dream about visiting again. It was the perfect birthday getaway. It made for a very fun celebration and I already can't wait to go back.
