Birth Video | Jade Alexa's Debut

The birth video is finally done. November 1st was the best day of my life and I am so glad we have this little video to remember it by. Thank you Carly and Leon for filming it and thank you Marissa for putting this video together. We love it.

Sunday Picnic

On Sunday we had a fun little picnic at Duke Gardens. 

We had chicken salad sandwiches, pasta salad, chips, watermelon, 

and the yummiest snickerdoodles ever. 

 Marissa made this short and fun video of our evening.

It was a fun night and good change of scenery. 

I vote we do it every Sunday.  

Summer Night Wonder

A few nights ago it was absolutely perfect outside so we decided to take advantage of it. We went to Locopops and to Duke Gardens to soak up every ounce of the summer night wonder that we could. 

After our tastebuds were satisfied, we enjoyed the beauty of the gardens and watched the fireflies dance.

Duke Campus

Jen and I decided to go explore Duke Campus this past Thursday morning. 

We were amazed by the prestige and spirit of knowledge on that campus. 

I mean you could feel the intelligence beaming off every individual there. 

On a not so intimidating note, we had a lot of fun checking out

the beautiful buildings and eating our yummy popsicles.

Thrifting

North Carolina has gold mines for thrift shops. 

We went to a couple of good ones this week. We found some serious gems at both places.

I was lucky enough to make it home with that gorgeous platter and 

darling little dish that I am currently using for my wedding ring and my favorite necklace. 

Swimming

Sweet little Jade Alexa loves swimming. I think it's safe to say it's her favorite thing to do.

She gets the biggest kick out of being in the water. She loves splashing around. 

She is giggling and smiling the whole time she is in the water. 

Taco Truck

There are a few taco trucks that are always in our area and we had been itching to try one out, so that's what we did.  The one we chose was a Guatemalan truck.   It took forever, but the wait was worth it.   We got tacos, tostadas, and poupas. It all was pretty tasty and a fun little experience. 

Sunday Stroll

Every Sunday we go for a little evening walk right before supper and it's always a good time. 

This little pond is across the street from our apartment and is filled with turtles. I've never seen so many turtles in one place before. They are so cute. Sometimes we feed them bread.
